Storyboarding is one of the key aspects of pre production in animation, during this workshop we will take a look at what is needed to create a clear and pipeline ready storyboard. We will talk about the different kinds of styles of storyboarding (feature, pre-school, action-adventure etc) and learn their characteristics.
We will pass through all the basic skills and knowledge an artist needs to have to start in this field and we will put them to use via developing a short sequence from thumbs to clean up!

-hook ups, cuts and editing. How to make sure your boards have everything to be production ready
-the different stages of a sequence (planning/research -> thumbs -> roughs -> cleans)
-we will revise and improve the thumbs/roughs everybody did
Day 3:
-storytelling and setting a mood (the anatomy of a sequence)
-storyboard artist and storyboard revisionist, the different roles and what they look for in each one of them
-we will check the roughs and lock the sequences to be cleaned up
-what can I do from here? Suggestions, exercises, tips
-examples of different storyboard artists and their approach
